Craig Mars Unleashes Club-Ready Remix of Junior Jack’s Classic ‘Thrill Me’
Two house heavyweights. One looped-up late-night weapon.
Liverpool-based DJ and producer Craig Mars steps boldly into the spotlight with a scorching new rework of the iconic Junior Jack – “Thrill Me”, fused seamlessly with Low Steppa & Cripi’s modern house anthem “Got the Funk.” The result? A late-night, dancefloor-focused bootleg built with peak-time pressure and precision.
Crafted entirely in Ableton Live, the Craig Mars Remix is more than just a mashup — it’s a reimagining. With fresh percussion, rolling filters, disco laser FX, and a carefully balanced low-end, this edit brings timeless vocals and funk-fuelled grooves into a raw, modern club context.
“I wanted to keep the soul of ‘Thrill Me’ but give it an after-hours warehouse feel,” says Craig Mars. “The original has this infectious bounce, and when I heard the Low Steppa track’s bass groove, I knew they could work together. After four weeks of rebuilding, filtering, and feedback — especially from my tutor, Paul Nolan — the drop finally landed where I wanted it.”
The remix has already sparked attention in underground DJ circles and is now available as a free promo download via Hypeddit. With support growing organically through Instagram reels, YouTube drops, and DJ-only promo groups, Mars is poised to become a fresh face in the new wave of UK house talent.
A Liverpool native with over 20 years of experience behind the decks, Craig Mars has performed across the UK and Ibiza, recently re-entering the scene with a mission to bring classic energy back into contemporary house sets. Now producing under his alias Mars Discotheque, he draws inspiration from the likes of Hot Since 82, Avision, Ronnie Spiteri, and Eats Everything.
After years of DJing, Craig has shifted his focus to full production, releasing monthly tracks and crafting edits tailored specifically for the booth. With a background in design and a deep-rooted connection to UK club culture, his aesthetic combines underground authenticity with visual precision.
“Old school meets new school with proper club energy. That drop hits harder than it should.” – PromoPool DJ
“It’s got that Defected-meets-Ibiza Terrace vibe. 100% dropping this next set.” – Underground House UK
